Has it really been a week since I last posted??? Wow, I guess that's what happens when life is BUSY! I'm seriously sitting here thinking about what to write and it seems like everything that has happened recently is one MASSIVE blur...Haha. In short, my days have been spent working with my dad, and most of my nights have been spent working at the wingy (a.k.a. "
Winger's" (have I mentioned that is the place of my employment? Well, anyway I'm a server there, and actually enjoy it...sometimes...lol). We're basically finished with the renovations at my Uncle's restaurant and can now begin full force work on the house. There is now a covered and uncovered patio (complete with massive flag pole that requires only two words of description: oi vei!), and horseshoe pits (that required installation of a sprinkling system and laying sod...lame...). Hopefully it will really help business for them down there.

Ever since my last blog post that probably made me sound like a manic depressive to most of you (sorry about that by the way...) I've tried really hard to have a more positive outlook on life, and I can honestly say that I am really doing much, much better. I actually went to church today because I wanted to and not because my mother guilted me into it, and that, my friends, is a huge step! Haha. Thank you all for your words of encouragement and friendship; you really make life a whole lot easier and much more of a joy to tackle. I can do it, and I will.
I caused a bit of facebook drama this week...oops. Haha. I had logged on to the blog to check on the progress of some friends' poor hurt dog, and noticed that I had one less follower than I had the day before. I was just curious, and eventually realized it was my ex. When the relationship ended, although I had my reasons to not want to be with her anymore, for the most part everything was okay, and we've even talked a bit since the "break-up". So I logged on facebook and was going to teasingly leave a post on her wall about it, but oops, she BLOCKED ME! Haha! I really thought it was funny, so immediately posted the following status:
"So, it's a weird feeling to realize your ex has blocked you on facebook and stopped following your blog...but even more weird of a feeling to realize YOU DON'T CARE! Haha! :)"
And it's true, I realized at that moment that while curious about the reason she felt the need to shut me out from her life I wasn't offended, nor did I wish to fix the problem. I don't mean for that to sound heartless, but only to mean that it was the final confirmation that I had made the right choice in wanting to end the relationship. I'm happier now, and I have a better sense of self-worth, and in my book, if you don't have that, what else matters? Life is really interesting how it turns out sometimes...
By far the best part of my week was the end of year choir concert at my old high school. Call me lame, but I have made it to both of these end of year things since I graduated myself, because the Vocal Jazz traditionally sings an awesome arrangement of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and invites all alumni of the group to come on stage and sing it also. First of all I love this because I love my high school choir teacher; he is one of the most amazing individuals who is always there for his students, and I feel like singing this song is just a little "thank-you" to him every year. He is truly amazing. (I've been given the assignment more than once by him to organize an Alum Choir to sing this song at his funeral.) Secondly, this song just has an amazing message of friendship and the power that it can invoke. I love it. It was a good reminder about how important the people we let into our lives are. After the concert I went to dinner with four of my best friends ever, and it was great to rekindle old friendships, and relive the memories. Two of my other best friends were out of town most of the week, and I missed them terribly. I also owe one of them a sincere apology for doubting their loyalties...I'm sorry, and I love you.
This week is looking like it will be just as hectic as last...I work everyday except for Thursday when I'm planning to go up to Salt Lake for a day trip with some friends to see a movie (hopefully
Letters to Juliet...haha) and go to a good friends wedding reception. Good luck to you Carly and Chace! I'll try to get at least one mid-week blog in though...
