...Why I Blog...

" You will have significant experiences. I hope you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Day 1

A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was...

I'm pretty sure that I was supposed to take a picture of myself right now and post it...but I'm not going to.  Lol.  This is from just before Christmas, so it's recent enough, right?  [Just agree with me.  ;)]

Today in a nutshell?  Weird.  And I say weird, because I feel so accomplished!  But I don't really know why!  A group of friends and I decided to each give up something for lent (no, none of us are Catholic, but I do like the whole idea of bettering yourself, plus it was just something for a group of broke college students to do in an effort to entertain ourselves.  Lol.), and I gave up facebook.
(Insert gasps and shocked looks here).
I know, I'm in shock too.  It started out because I hadn't been on facebook for a couple of days when we were discussing what to give up, and so I just blurted it out...and then wanted to go post it on my status.  Lol.
It. Has. Been. So. Hard.  Like seriously!  I know it sounds completely stupid, but I have literally had urges to get on!  I've even had thoughts like, "Oh, I can just sneak a peak and noone will ever know....".  Can anyone say addiction!?  Uh, yeah, it's more than slightly ridiculous.  I am determined to do this though.  Anyway, the reason I brought this up?  With no facebook in my life I have been so productive!  It's insane!  And good!  Now I'm just worried how I can moderate my usage when my "fast" of facebook is over...(and yes I want to still use it, because I love being able to keep up with old friends with minimal effort...haha).

Today has consisted of: Organic Chemistry, homework, check e-mail, General Physics laboratory, a shift at the radio station (where I got A LOT of stuff finished up...yes I'm proud!), more work, and blogging.  :)  (Which is a BIG deal!  Lol.)  Tonight is going to consist of more homework, and visiting some friends who I haven't hung out with in far too long.  'Twill be good!  :)

P.S.  I'm really excited to be doing this thing!  :)
