...Why I Blog...

" You will have significant experiences. I hope you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Day 4

Your favorite photograph of your best friend...

So if you don't think this one was hard without any access to facebook, think again.  Haha.  It was super difficult!  So, I have more than one best friend, so just bare with me.  ;)

You three ladies have been there for me through soooo much!  Farrah, Whitney, and Rachel, thank you!!!  I'll love you forever, because that's how long we'll be friends!  :)

Miss Lisha.  I haven't known you for a super long time, but you already know more about me than anyone in this world, and I kind of like that..., or sunthin....  K Bye!  :)

Nesserbug, you're awesome!  You are always there to talk to, and you've proven to me that you can still stay besties with someone even if you're not living in the same town as them anymore. Thanks for all the memories.

Whitney Williams Rowley.  First of all, I can't believe you're married!  Holy moly.  We've been friends since the day we were born, and I hope we're still such good friends the day we die, because you're amazing.

Mary, Mary Quite Contrary.  You make me laugh!  Haha.  I love our intellectual conversations, our jokes, teases, and everything.  Your one person that I can just sit down and talk to about anything.  Good luck in life kiddo.

Scott Edward Potter.  (Or should I say Peter Potter...lol!)  You have taught me so very much.  Thank you for everything.  You're hands down my best guy friend, and heaven knows I need that with all the ladies in my life!  Lol.  You're such a good example to me, and I hope to one day be as strong as you are.  Thanks for everything buddy.

And then there are the ones who I don't have pics of on my computer...sorry guys!

Sheraya Elissa.  You're so fiesty, and I love that!  I can talk to you about anything, and that is just perfect.  You're fiercely loyal, and a beautiful person inside and out.

Sterling Kade.  I'm so grateful that we've rekindled our friendship as of late.  You're such an amazing person that words can't even begin to do you justice.  Thank you for everything.

Michael Scott.  Ditto to what I said to Sterling.  Lol.  But seriously, thank you.  You're always there to listen, and you don't judge, and sometimes that  is exactly what a person needs.  Thank you.

Oh yeah....about that....

Remember how ages and ages ago I was going to post about my trip to Disneyland with friends for last spring break?  Yeah....well, I'm probably not going to, so here at least is a link to the post my bestie nessa wrote about our excursion.  :)  Enjoy!

PS...I WANT TO GO BACK!

Day 3

Your idea of the perfect first date...

So I'm a complete and total hopeless romantic (I've had this discussion with many of you COUNTLESS times...and I apologize.  Lol.).

We would both be riding on the same subway car, completely unknown to one another.  I would have looked your direction and you would have been staring at me...you would blush and avert your eyes quickly, and I would smirk which would get your attention again.  I'd purposely get off the train at your stop even though I'm far from my destination.  You'd notice me exiting and wait for me.  After an awkward, "Hi.", you'd agree to go get hot chocolate with me.  (Yes, it's wintertime and there is snow gently falling...)  We'd make our way to a cozy little cafe where we'd sit for hours and just talk.  About any and everything.  I'd feel this warm glow beginning to grow inside me and would just know that we were soulmates, and nothing else in the world would matter anymore.  It would eventually grow dark, and I'd offer to walk you home.  Standing on your doorstep I'd ask if I could see you again, but I'd totally miss your answer because I would be entranced looking into your eyes.  Looking into them would be like catching a glimpse of eternity.  I'd ask you to repeat yourself, and you gladly would because you were fully aware of what was going on.  I'd reach down and kiss you gently, and as I turned to walk away I'd notice my fingertips lingering on your fingertips, as if begging this moment to never end.

Alright, it's over!  Haha.  Sorry for all the gushiness....I just re-read it, and it sorta sounds uber creepy, and I apologize!  Haha.  Now don't worry, no I'm not delusional.  I'm fully aware that this will never happen, but it did ask for the perfect date after all.  ;)

The Love/Hate Relationship

Here it is 1:30 am, and once again I'm burning the early morning oil to finish some homework.  The culprit this time?  Organic Chemistry.  Oh wait, it's usually the culprit.  ;)  I so totally have a love/hate relationship with this course.  I love it because it's so INTERESTING!  And because I know it's a necessary step toward my life-goals.  However, I hate it because it's SO DANG HARD!!!

Why so late?  Well, a mixture of being at work late tonight (Thursday's are HELLISH for me schedule wise)(my apologies for the vulgarity, but it denotes truth concerning the situation...lol) and the fact that I could have finished this lab write-up yesterday, but instead decided to play with friends...which was good too.  :)

Day 2

Tell us about your job...

Well, I am currently employed at two different jobs, both of which I have mentioned before, but I'll recap for those of you who may not know.  If it bores you, I do not apologize.  ;)  Lol.

First Job.  I work as a Team Leader Server at Winger's Bar and Grill.  What does that mean?  Basically, I'm the Shiz.  Haha.  Just kidding.  Team Leader's are basically the conduit between all the employees and the management.  I still serve on the floor, but am responsible for checking off peoples side work and sections (making sure they are nice and clean etc.) at the end of the night.  I also run discounts for all the servers, combine tickets, and pick up the slack when people aren't doing their fair share.  Sometimes I get to be everyone's best friend and sometimes I'm sure alot of people hate me (but that's leadership for ya! Haha.).  I do enjoy it for the most part though.  I'm such a people person that I love just being around people all the time.  Because of school and my other job I usually only work Thursday and Saturday nights, but pick up extra serving shifts and a random hosting shift every once in a while. Now that I'm 21 I've even been trained on some of the bar stuff...which frightens me...haha.

Second job.  I also work as an Office Assistant in the Division of Science office at the JC I attend.  Remember those administrative changes that I mentioned a few posts back?  Yeah, as it turns out, there has been PLENTY for me to do, so I'm not sure what me or my boss (who is Administrative Assistant to the Dean (or AVC)) were worried about.  Basically they split the Division of Arts and Sciences into the Division of Science and the Division of Liberal Arts, and changed the title of the head of each division from "Dean" to "Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC)".  In a nutshell?  One of those stupid changes that doesn't really matter, because I still do everything I used to do for both Divisions except now I have to worry about a second AVC whose office is now across campus.  Anyway, back to what it is I do.  I'm responsible for tracking syllabi (making sure they have the appropriate course descriptions and objectives from the JC catalog, basically bookkeeping stuff), facilitating and administering faculty evaluations (where students rate their professors and the courses they are taking), track budget information for the Division(s), and whatever other random stuff might pop up.  (And with the administrative restructuring of the JC, A LOT of stuff pops up.  Lol.)  I have honestly LOVED this job.  It's one of those jobs that will be such a great addition to a resume, working directly with a college dean and such.  I love the people I work for, and for the most part the faculty I work with.  I have really enjoyed working in an administrative setting, and have realized that I wouldn't mind working in administration as a potential career.

Between the two jobs I work about 30 hours a week, which keeps me hoppin, but also keeps the money flowin!  ;)  Haha.  Which helps when you just bought a new car!!  :D  I'll have to post pics later, but let's just say I love it.  :) It has leather seats, a moonroof, seat warmers, and everything I could  have ever wanted in a car.

Day 1

A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was...

I'm pretty sure that I was supposed to take a picture of myself right now and post it...but I'm not going to.  Lol.  This is from just before Christmas, so it's recent enough, right?  [Just agree with me.  ;)]

Today in a nutshell?  Weird.  And I say weird, because I feel so accomplished!  But I don't really know why!  A group of friends and I decided to each give up something for lent (no, none of us are Catholic, but I do like the whole idea of bettering yourself, plus it was just something for a group of broke college students to do in an effort to entertain ourselves.  Lol.), and I gave up facebook.
(Insert gasps and shocked looks here).
I know, I'm in shock too.  It started out because I hadn't been on facebook for a couple of days when we were discussing what to give up, and so I just blurted it out...and then wanted to go post it on my status.  Lol.
It. Has. Been. So. Hard.  Like seriously!  I know it sounds completely stupid, but I have literally had urges to get on!  I've even had thoughts like, "Oh, I can just sneak a peak and noone will ever know....".  Can anyone say addiction!?  Uh, yeah, it's more than slightly ridiculous.  I am determined to do this though.  Anyway, the reason I brought this up?  With no facebook in my life I have been so productive!  It's insane!  And good!  Now I'm just worried how I can moderate my usage when my "fast" of facebook is over...(and yes I want to still use it, because I love being able to keep up with old friends with minimal effort...haha).

Today has consisted of: Organic Chemistry, homework, check e-mail, General Physics laboratory, a shift at the radio station (where I got A LOT of stuff finished up...yes I'm proud!), more work, and blogging.  :)  (Which is a BIG deal!  Lol.)  Tonight is going to consist of more homework, and visiting some friends who I haven't hung out with in far too long.  'Twill be good!  :)

P.S.  I'm really excited to be doing this thing!  :)

So...it doesn't take a genius to realize that I've had just a little problem with blogging regularly.  Okay, a BIG problem.  Anyway, in an effort to jump start my regular blogging once again (P.S.  I can't believe that I've been a "blogger" for over a year!  Crazy!)
